DISTRIBUTOR GeneralThe distributor used on the cylinder Chrysler Outboard Motor is "breakerless preamplifier (a switching device containing light emitting diode and light sensitive switch) replaces the breaker points cup with three (3) equally spaced windows is attached to the rotor As the distributor shaft rotatesthe windows in the rotor cup allow the light emitting diode to trigger the light sensitive switch which signals the C- unitRemoval
Bl?isconnect ground lead and lead to coi at bracket CRemove two (2) bolts securing bracket to powe head DSlip distributor belt off pulley and remove brac ket with housing
WARNING
Disconnect battery 1Remove distributor cap assembly (baseseal, coveras followsADisconnect high tension lead wire from ignition coil by pulling boot away from coil, then pull ing lead wire from coil Figure 18
