DTurn shift rod in counterclockwise direction until it unthreads from shift armPull shift rod lower and intermediate from gear housing ELift gear housing upper from gear housing lowerFPry seal out of bore in gear housingupper with screwdriverFigure 47 H Drive out spring pin securing gear shift rod coupling to gear shift rod and remove coupling 5Remove pinion shaft as followsARemove coupler from end at pinion shaft
Screw at top end of pinion shaft serves as spacer to set proper height of driveshaft, DO NOT REMOVEBRemove pinion assembly
CAUTION
Be very careful not to scratch seal bore with screwdriver when removing seal
