ReassemblyTo reassemble water pumpproceed as followsIf water pump kit was used, proceed to Step 21Replace driveshaft seal as follows :
AApply grease (special tool NoT2961) on sealing lips of riveshaft sealBPlace new sealspring end up, on top of seal bore Use special tool NoT2915 seal installer to press seal inFigure 40

CRemove water pump impeller drive pin from driveshaft and lift water pump plate up and off driveshaftDRemove water pump impeller from water pump body Inspection and RepairReplacement parts for the water pump are available individually or in kit formThe water pump kit includes new body assembly (including new seals)impeller, pin and backplate Inspect and repair the following1Inspect water pump impeller, replace if vanes are damaged or worn 2Inspect pump body and water pump backplate for wear and or pitting, replace if excessive3Remove driveshaft sealFigure 39 Figure 40Installing Drllfeshaft Seal
