2Assemble propeller shaft as follows :
4 Replace water pump as followsPlace water pump backplate on gear housingBApply anti-seize (special tool T2987 -1) end of driveshaftCarefully push through driveshaft seal in pump body and impeller until pump drive pin hole in drive shaft is below impellerCInsert drive pin in hole of driveshaftslide pump assembly down engaging pin with slot in impellerD Guide end of driveshaft through seal in top of gear housingdo not secure pump 5Drop clutch shift cam in shift rod cavity Figure 34
AReplace clutch spring and clutch pin guide
Be sure spring is placed in cavity before pin guide BCompress spring using small screwdriver and slide clutch in slot of propeller shaftFigure 32
AWARNING
Place shop cloth over end of shaftSpring pressure (if released suddenly) can cause clutch guide pin to be propelled very rapidly

6Install forward bevel gear (with bearing) as follows: APull driveshaft (16 mm) up approximately 5 8"
