AMeasure i.d of front gear bearing Refer to specifications BCarefully check inside of bore for cracks, corrosion and burrs Remove burrssuperficial corrosion may be permissible if not on sealing surface Cracked housings must be replaced ReassemblyReplacement parts for the gear housing are available individually; in additionall seals used in the gear housing are available in kit form Proceed with reassembly as follows1Replace seals on propeller shaft bearing cage as followsAInstall new O-Ring seal in groove of bearing cage BInstall propeller shaft bearing in cage with spring side outusing seal installer (special tool No T2915) Figure 31 When properly installedcase of seal will be flush to .030" (0.76 mm) below surface of bearing cage
