RemovalTo remove the gear housing for further disassemble proceed as follows : DRIVE GEAR

AWARNING
Disconnect spark plug leads and ground them to support plate to prevent accidental starting of motor1Remove propeller2Remove screw joining gear shift rods
FORWARD GEAR (ENGAGED)

3Remove four (4) screws securing motor leg extension to motor leg SHIFT CLUTCH

4Pull motor leg extension from motor leg 5Unscrew gear shift rod and remove 6Remove motor leg extension from gear housing as follows: ARemove cap screw from top BRemove three (3) cap screws from bottom remove extension DisassemblyTo disassemble the gear train and shift mechanismproceed as follows:

1Remove water pump 2Drain gear housing as follows :
