6Tighten lower shbck mount screws securely7Replace magneto control shaft and steering handle assembly remove handle3Remove stern brackets from swivel bracket as followsAPosition stern brackets in the tilted position to expose pivot screw on swivel bracket and stern bracketBRemove pivot screw and spacer from swivel bracketCRemove pivot screw, wave washer, tilt lock, spring and spacer from port stern bracketDRemove stop nut and washer from end of pivot boltEPull starboard stern bracket assembly with pivot bolt from swivel bracketFPress pivot bolt from starboard stern bracket4Remove clamp screw assembly as follows: ASaw clamp screw between stern bracket and clamp screw footFigure 4
SWIVEL BRACKET ASSEMBLY
RemovalTo remove the swivel bracket assembly from the motor, follow the steps outlined for removal of shock mountsDisassemblyThe following procedure involves the complete disassembly of the swivel bracketIn some cases it may not be necessary to remove the swivel bracket assembly to accomplish particular task Analysis the following outline and make that determinationProceed with disassembly as follows: 1Remove steering arm and kingpin from swivel bracket assembly as follows: ARemove upper shock mounts from steering arm BLoosen steering friction screw located on starboard side of swivel bracket and friction set screw on inside of swivel bracketCLift up on lower end of kingpin and slide swivel bracket assembly from kingpinRemove nylon bearings and washer from upper and lower bore of swivel bracketDDrive out spring pin securing kingpin to steering arm Remove kingpin from steering armFigure 3
