CAUTION Check for match marks on both connecting rod and capPlace cap over crankpin aligning match marksCApply Loctite (special tool (T2963-1) to th reads of connecting rod screws, install screws and torque to 90 inch pounds6Install center main rollers on crankshaftApply small amount of oil to rollers and place center main liner over rollers aligning cut-out in upper liner with cut-out in lower liner7Assemble crankcase cover as follows :
At this time check crankshaft for ease of operation Rotate crankshaft by hand and check for binding8Install new spline seal in crankshaftFigure 29
CAUTION
Apply liberal coating of anti -seize lubricant (special tool -2987-1) to the driveshaft splinesThis will prevent corrosion from forming which can cause the driveshaft to freeze up in the crankshaft, making future removal very difficultDo not use any lubricant which contains copperDRIVESHAFT SPLINE SEAL DRIVESHAFT SPLINES
AApply bead of sealant (special tool T8983) filling entire parting line groove and rising approximately 1 16" (1 .59 mm) above parting line surfaceFigure 28Insure that sealant reaches lower main seal case and upper main bearing outer race up to bearing cage gasket
