_ STEERING HANDLE ASSEMBLY GENERAL
The information in this section is concerned with the removal, repair and installation of the steering handle assemblyIf tab on stator ring contacts boss too soon(preventing full rotation of twist grip) shorten control link as follows (see Figure 2) :

DESCRIPTION
Besides the steering function of this assembly the steering handle also acts as the throttle controlThe twist grip is mechanically connected to the tower shaft on the power headThe tower shaft is linked to the ring stator by which the throttle is activatedThe tower shaft mechanism therefore is part of the steering handle assembly and is included in this section
ALoosen jam nuts on link and turn link (using 1 4" open end wrench) from top to bottomShorten length as necessaryBRetighten jam nuts and check operation If tab does not contact boss at full throttle stoplengthen control link as follows (see Figure 2)ALoosen jam nuts on link and turn link (using 1 4" open end wrench) from bottom to top Extend length as necessaryBTighten jam nuts and check operation
