Subsection
_ A.CLIGHTING SYSTEM
GENERAL
The information in this subsection is concerned with troubleshooting the lighting system and replacement of the electrical components To prevent lighting system from overloadingsystem should be wired as shown in Figure 15
DESCRIPTION
The A.Clighting system is very simple and contains only two (2) major components: flywheel and alternator stator, Figure 14The system also includes the necessary boat wiring and boat lighting or navigational lights

TESTING
To test boat wiring for continuity, use special tool NoT2938-1 circuit continuity testerConduct test systematically as follows: 1Disconnect power supply plug at motor
Figure 14ACLighting System Components
Do not hook tester in series with any of the lightsThe current drawn by the light will drain the tester batteries2Connect tester at each end of wire being tested 3Failure of test lamp to light anywhere along the circuit indicates problem in that particular section of the circuitReplace that section of wire and continue the test until circuit is completely checked4Start engine and check lights for operations If lights still do not work, the problem is in the lighting stator59
