DescriptionThe trigger stator is mounted under the flywheelIt contains two trigger coilslocated 1800 apartOne trigger coil controls the No.1 cylinder and the other controls the No2 cylinderThe timing magnets (located in the hub of the flywheel) rotates inside the trigger stator adjacent to the trigger coilsFigure 12RemovalTo remove the trigger stator for inspection or replacementproceed as follows1Remove flywheelseeFlywheelRemoval "2Remove C- stator, seeC-D StatorRemoval "3Disconnect the trigger stator lead wires at the two connectors 4Pry off stator link connector from ball jOint stud 5Remove the four (4) trigger stator mounting screws 6Lift off trigger stator
C-D STATOR
DescriptionThe C-D stator is simp.ly long wire wound around six pole pieces It is mounted under the flywheel where the generating magnet can rotate around the poles RemovalTo remove the C-D stator for inspection for replacementproceed as follows1Remove flywheelsee "FlywheelRemoval "2Disconnect the stator leads at the connectors 3Remove the two screws retaining the stator to the trigger stator4Remove C-D statorCleaning And InspectionUse brush or compressed air to clean the stator windingspoles and laminationsClean dirty pole laminations with No400 or finer sand paperInspect for loose connections or burnt insulation at the point where the lead wires connect to poles
