There is bevel on inner diameter of piston ringThis side of piston ring must be positioned "up" or towards top of piston(See figure 20

BInstall piston pin so that the open end is up towards the top of the engine and piston ring staking pins are also facing upMatch mark on connecting rod should be on port side of engine(See figure 19
