SUPPORT PLATE COVER
ARemove engine cover-upper as outlined in Section IV, paragraph I-I
10-1Removing Support Plate Cover
BRemove leads from shorting switchCRemove choke knob and linkDRemove nut securing shorting switch to support plate cover and remove shorting switch(See figure 16

ERemove two (2) screws securing support plate cover to support plate and remove coverInstall plain washer and seal on gear shift handle shaftPlace handle and shaft in motor leg as shown in figure 15
DPlace remaining plain washer on shift handle shaftInstall shift lever with gear shift rod on shift handle shaft as shown in figure 12EInstall screw and lockwasher securing gear shift lever to gear shift handle shaft and tighten securely
