SECTION XIV (Cont 15-2 Installing Upper Main Bearing, Center Main Bearing, and Lower Seal Collar

ASlide upper main bearing on crankshaftBearing should protrude 18" above top of cylinder boreBInstall crankcase seal ring in crankshaft groove located just below center main bearingCPlace cylinder half of center main bearing race on peg in bearing boreCoat race with grease (Special Tool T2961) and position fourteen (14) rollers on raceDLower crankshaftgrease crankshaft, and position remaining sixteen (16) rollers on crankshaftEPosition other half of center main bearing race so that it dovetails with cylinder half of raceFInspect parting line sealIf necessary, install new crankcase parting line seal in grooves in crankcase coverSeal should be flush with sides of bearing boresGApply sealant (Special Tool T8955) to the six (6) places shown in figure 13HPosition crankcase cover on cylinder and drive in locating pins (drive on flat end)1Install crankcase screws (including two (2) beneath reed platesTorque bolts in spiral from centerSee cylinder head sequence shown in figure 8Ground lead belongs under head of second 14" bolt from bottom on starb9ard sideJInsert seal protector (Special
