SECTION XIV (Cont 8-2 Installing Adapter Flange and Reed Plate Assembly
AApply sealant (Special Tool T8955) to threads of carburetor studsInstall two (2) carburetor studs and throttle cam studBClean gasket surfaces of powerhead, reed plate, and adapter flangeCInstall gasket with divided center between power head and deflector plateDUse four (4) screws to secure reed plates over divided gasket on deflector plateEInstall gasket with undivided center between adapter flange and reed plateFSecure adapter flange, reed plate assembly, and gaskets to powerhead with eight (8) screwsGInstall carburetor as outlined in
BReed stops should be set at 0.28 .010" (measured from tip of reed stop to deflector plate)NOTE
Do not bend reed stops in such way that sharp radius is formed which reeds must conform toCReeds should neither stand open more than .010" nor have more than .005" twist within the .010" maximumDInstall reed plates as outlined in Section XIV, paragraph 8-210CYLINDER EXHAUST GASKET (UPPER) 09-25
