3-1 Removing Bearing Cage and Stator Ring
ARemove magneto stator as outlined in Section VI, paragraph 3-1BRemove four (4) screws securing bearing cage to powerheadCLift bearing cage with stator ring off powerhead and slip cage over end of crankshaftDAlign link with plug lead retaining slot, then unhook stator ring from magneto control linkERemove gasket from powerhead3-2 Installing Bearing Cage and Stator Ring
Hooking Magneto Control Link on Stator Ring
AAlign magneto control link with plug lead retaining slot in stator ring then hook link on ring by tilting ringSee figure 2BPlace new bearing cage gasket on powerheadCApply grease between lips of crankshaft seal and insert seal protector (Special Tool T8967) in sealDApply sealant (Special Tool T8955) to threads of bearingcage screwsSecure cage to powerhead with four (4) screws torqued to 70 inch poundsEInstall stator plate as outlined in Section VI, paragraph 3-24UPPER CRANKSHAFT SEAL 09-23
