1Remove powerheadJRemove crankshaft spline seal from inside of crankshaft by prying downward with small screwdriver (see figure 1)2-2 Installing Powerhead

AInstall crankshaft spline seal in groove inside bottom of crankshaftBClean gasket surface of powerhead and spacer plateInstall new cylinder exhaust gasket on spacer plateCOn 25 H.Pmodels, engage crankshaft with dri veshaft splines by rotating flywheel or propellerEase powerhead onto spacer plateSecure powerhead to motor leg and install motor leg covers as outlined in Section XIII, paragraph 9-2DOn 30 HPmodels, position powerhead on spacer plate and complete assembly procedures as outlined in Section XIII, paragraph 10-2EInstall gear shift lever as outlined in Section XIV, paragraph 12-2FConnect hose from support plate bushing to fuel filterSecure hose with clamp (use hose clamp pliers, Special Tool T8900)GInstall lockwasher, double black lead and screw on support plateFInstall lockwasher, black (-) battery lead and screw in starboard hole of starter bracket lower on front of crankcase coverIInstall lockwasher, white-striped red lead, red lead and nut on upper terminal of starter relay71
