1-1 Removing Powerhead
ARemove retaining ring securing choke rod to choke lever on carburetorUnhook choke rod from choke leverBRemove magneto control shaft link as outlined in Section XIII, paragraph 5-1
CUse hose clamp pliers (Special Tool T8900) to slide hose clamp from fuel filter fittingRemove hoseCAUTION
Do not use T8900 hose clamp pliers to pull hose off fitting because these pliers canpuncture hoseDLoosen set screw in collar retaining gear shift control shaftPull shaft off gear shift rod upperERemove gear shift lever as outlined in Section XIV, paragraph 12-1FOn 25 H.Pmodels, remove motor leg covers and the screws securing motor leg to powerheadSee Section XIII, paragraph 9-1GOn 30 H.Pmodels, remove motor
Removing Crankshaft Spline Seal
groove inside bottom of crankshaftBClean gasket surface of powerhead and spacer plateInstall new cylinder exhaust gasket on spacer plate
