ARemove motor leg covers as outlined in Section XIII, paragraph 9-1BLoosen jam nut above shift rod coupling as shown in figure 1
Positioning Lower Shift Rod
Loosening Jam Nut on Shift Rod Coupling
CShift engine into reverse gearTurn coupling in clockwise direction until lower shift rod separates from upperDRemove four (4) hex head bolts securing upper gear housing to motor leg (motor leg extension in case of long shaft models)EPull lower unit from motor leg1-2 Installing Lower Unit
