SECTION (Cont ARemove carburetor as outlined in Section V, paragraph 1-1BRemove two (2) screws fastening choke shutter to choke shaftCPull shutter from shaftDUnhook choke shaft spring from pin on carburetor, then remove shaft, choke relief valve and relief valve spring4-2 Installing Choke Shaft and Shutter

ISecure choke shutter with two (2) screws5IDLE ADJUSTMENT SCREW 01-17
5-1 Removing Idle Adjustment Screw

ATurn idle adjustment needle counterclockwise until thread portion of needle is out of carburetorPull needle and spring outBExamine tapered portion of needleIf deep grooves are present, replace screw5-2 Installing Idle Adjustment Screw

APosition relief valve vertically in carburetor with pivots up and open part of pivots towards float bowlBPlace choke shaft spring on choke shaft so that loop shaped to hold lever is towards the leverCInsert choke shaft in carburetor far enough to enter first pivot of relief valveLever should be on side of carburetor having pin for choke shaft springDPosition relief valve spring between pivots of relief valve so that spring ends straddle relief valvePush shaft completely in and hook end of choke shaft spring on pin on carburetor bodyEPosition shaft so that side which is recessed for screw heads points away from float bowlFLift end of relief valve spring that points away from float bowl and push it until it points towards float bowlInsert choke shutter in choke shutter shaftGHold shutter up enough to allow relief valve to be rotated until it is more than 180 from shutterPush shutter back down so that it holds relief valve at 180HPush loop of choke shaft spring until it snaps into place on shaft lever12
