CRemove seal by prying it out with screwdriverFigure 38 BCheck nutCCheck propeller nut sealReassembly
1Install shift arm in lower gear housing so that fork ends are downand secure with new O-ring and pivot screw2Thread shift rod into arm 3Assemble propeller shaft as follows :

DInspect seal and bearing for damageEInstall propeller shaft seal by applying grease between lips of seal, plac ing seal in cage with gaiter spring out and pressing seal into place with seal installer, Special Tool NoT 3431 Figure 39
