BREAKER POINTS
GeneralBreaker point condition and adjustment of the gap greatly affects engine operation
If points are burned or badly oxidized, little or no current will pass, and the engine may not run at all Adjusting the gap determines how long the points stay openAdefinite time is needed for the magnetic field in the coil to build upIf the points are closed for too short time, weak spark will be produced by the coilIf the points are open too longthere may be excessive arcing and burning of points
