Cleaning and InspectionI nspect poppet and spring for obvious signs of damage Inspect all parts for petroleum gum and varnish and cl ean with suitable solvent and install it in its groove using su itable tool (hooked piece of wire)
CAUTION
Be sure working end of wire is rounded off to prevent damage to new a-ring
ReassemblyTo reassemble coupler proceed as follows :
To ease installation it may be necessary to use second piece of wire to push poppet down while positioning a-ring When properly installedthe poppet will seat against the bottom a-ringproviding seal4Place drop or two of oil on new top a-ring and position it in the remaining groove of the coupler
