SOCKET (SWITCH)
POWER TRIM AND TILT CYLINDER ASSEMBLIES
CONNECT

Removal
1Tilt motor high enough for removal of upper shaft (shaft must clear stern brackets)and secure motor2Remove pump assembly as outlined in this section 3Remove cylinder housing with both cylinder assemblies and shock absorber as follows:

Next two steps require two (2) wrenchesARemove lower shaft from stern brackets by removing two (2) stop nutsFigure 26 BRemove stop nut and washer from each end of upper shaftFigure 26
BConnect black lead to negative battery terminalCConnect red lead to positive battery terminal
CAUTION
Do not overfillThis will force oil into motor and cause it to fail4Make sure unit is fully retractedRefill reservoir with #30 straight weight, non-detergent oiland only to bottom of oil fill holeFigure 255Cycle unit up and downtimes to bleed out any air in lines
