There are three (3) different thickness shims available They are: Thickness .003 .005 .010 Color Brass Silver Black

Apply small amount of grease to spacer before placing it in counterbore of bearing cageThis will keep the spacer from falling out during assembly 2Reassemble reverse gear, radial bearingprop shaft bearing cage and spacerFigure 32
A combination of any of these shims can be used in order to obtain the proper thickness required6Install shims as follows: AAfter determining correct number of shims requiredremove shimming plug and aluminum cradle from gear housing BRemove pinion nut from driveshaftCRemove driveshaft assembly from gear housing and remove .050 master shim DInstall required shimsEReinstall driveshaft assembly and pinion gearInstall new pinion nut with sealant (Special Tool NoT 2963-1)andtorqueto85ft.lbs(11.72kgm) FInstall shimming plug and aluminum cradleGRecheck distance between large 0.0of shimming plug and face of pinion gear with feeler gauge while applying downward force on driveshaftDistance must range between .004 minimum to .006 maximum 7After completing above procedures, remove shimming plug and cradle REVERSE GEAR BEARING CAGE SPACER
