Reassembly and Installation 1Install fuel pump cover as follows :
AApply sealant to threads of impulse (air) hose fitting Special Tool NoT 8955 Install fitt ing in cover and tighten securely BInstall gasket and fuel pump cover on power head and secure with four (4) screws Figure 8CInstall impulse hose on lower fitting on cover2Install fuel pump valve as followsAApply sealant to threads of fuel line fitting Special Tool NoT 8955Install fitting in fu el pump body and tighten securely Figure 7Removing Fuel Pump Cover
BPlace fuel pump valve gasket on valve seat in fu el pump body Place valve in cavityspring end first Figure 9CInstall two (2) screws and tighten securely
9Remove impulse hose fitting from fuel pump cove rInspection and Repair
1Discard fuel sediment bowl gasket, fuel pump gasket and fuel pump valve gasketif any wear is noted 2Clean parts in solvent 3Inspect fuel pump bowl screen for damage 4Check diaphragm for holesbreaks or excessive stretchingHold up to light and check for pin holes
