3Dry ignition components and spray with lubricant and water displacer 8969 4Drain fuel lines and carburetor5If fuel tank was submerged, drain all fuel from tank, flush with fresh fuel until all water is removed 6Start engine, keep it running for one (1) hour or until all parts are thoroughly warmed and remaining water has evaporated from internal parts 8Remove propeller and apply coating of 2987-1 Anti-Seize Compound on propeller shaftReinstall propeller9Store engine in an upright position in dry, wellventilated area
Preparation for Use After StorageTo prepare the motor for use after it has been in storage, proceed as follows :
1Remove spark plugs Clean or replace as required 2Check lubricant in lower gear housing 3Lubricate all moving parts as outlined underLubrication Points" 4Clean exterior of engine Apply marine-type wax to protect the finish5Check condition of battery 6Follow standa rd operating procedures
Motor SubmergedSalt WaterMotors submerged in salt water are put back in service much the same as with fresh water; however, precautionary note is added to stop damaging corrosion
