Engine Cover Latch HandleApply lubricant to grease fitting on bracket in support plate where handle is mounted Figure 12 3Remove propellerIf frozen, tap gently with block of wood
CAUTION
Do not remove spacer from shaft4Clean splined shaft thoroughly5Lubricate propeller shaft splines with anti-seize lubricant, 2987-1 Figure 136Reinstall propeller assembly
BREAK-IN
1Mix correct amount of CHRYSLER OUTBOARD OIL with each gallon of gasoline Refer to Table 3, Fuel Oil Mixture Requirements
If CHRYSLER OUTBOARD OIL is not usedbreak-in additive may be required Figure 12Lubricating Engine Cover Handle
Propeller Shaft1Remove retaining pin from propeller nut and pry nut off shaft 2Remove stop nut, plain washer and hub or flare washer, (" propeller spline washer") from shaft
2For the first 5-10 minutesoperate motor in gear at fast idle (under 2000 RPM)Check operating of water pump and cooling system Referto Section 6B for water pump operation 3For the rest of the first hour, DO NOT EXCEED 3500 RPM (1throttle)4DuriAg the second hour, motor should be operated at 3 throttle with occasional bursts to wide open throttle for one (1) to two (2) minutes5During the next four (4) hoursavoid long periods of full throttle operation
