If the oscillator is not availablethe speedometer can be checked as followsOlnstall the meter unitOTurn on the ignition switchORotate the waterwheel by handOCheck that the speedometer shows the speedIf the speedometer does not workcheck the following Speed Sensor Electric Source Voltage (see Speed Sensor Power Supply Inspection) Speed Sensor (see Speed Sensor Inspection) Wiring (see wiring diagram in this section) If the speed sensor power supply, speed sensor and wiring are goodreplace the meter unit
Speed Sensor Power Supply Inspection Connect the 12 battery and terminals in the same man ner as specified in the "Display Function Inspection" Set the hand tester to the DC 25 range and connect it in the meter unit as follows Special ToolHand Tester: 57001-1394 Connections: Hand Tester (+) Hand Tester (-)
