12-20 STEERING Reverse System
Shift Cable Installation
Slide short piece of rubber or plastic tubing over the front cable end to guide the cable through the hull Lubricate the outside of the new cable to ease cable installation Torque the shift cable nutTorqueShift Cable Nut: 39 Nm (4.0 kgfm, 29 ftlb)
Align the groove [A] on the steering cable with the opening portion [8] on the cable bracket as shown Apply non-permanent locking agent (High Strength: Loctite 271 equivalent) to the cable bracket mounting bolt Apply water resistant grease to the joint ball at each end of shift cable Adjust the shift cable (see Shift Cable Adjustment)
Shift Cable Inspection

Shift Cable Lubrication
o The shift cable is sealed at each end and do not require
lubricationIf the seal is damaged, the cable must be replaced
