STEERING 12-19 Reverse System
Loosen the locknut [A] at the front end of the shift cable and take off the ball joint [8], and remove the locknut from the cable front end Pull the holder [C] off the cable bracket [D] Remove the cable bracket mounting bolts [E] Slide the shift cable [F] off the cable bracket
Turn the water craft on its left side and remove the pump cover (see Pump Removal in the PumpImpeller chapter)
CAUTION
Never lay the watercraft on the right sideWater in the exhaust system may drain back into the engine, causing serious damage Loosen the locknut [A] at the rear end of the shift cableand remove the ball joint [8] from the reverse bucket [C], Disconnect the shift cable from the fitting at the middle of the hullOUnscrew the large nut (shift cable nut) in the hull with wrenchOSpecial toolbox wrench [A] is useful to remove the large nut (shift cable nut)Special ToolBox Wrench: 57001-1451
