12-6 STEERING Steering Cable
Slide back the outer sleeve of the ball joint and take off the ball jOint Remove the cable bracket mounting bolts [A]
Loosen the locknut [A] at the front end of the steering cable and take off the ball joint [6], and remove the locknut from the cable front end Pull the holder [C] off the cable bracket [0] Slide the steering cable [E] off the cable bracket
Turn the watercraft on its left side and remove the pump cover (see Pump Removal in PumpImpeller chapter)
CAUTION
Never lay the watercraft on the right sideWater in the exhaust system may drain back into the engine, causing serious damage Loosen the locknut [A] at the rear end of the steering cable, and remove the joint bolt [6] Remove the joint [C] and locknut from the cable end
