14-4 STORAGE Preparation for Storage
Battery
Give refresh charge before you store the watercraft and store it with the negative lead removedGive refresh charge once month during storageRemove the battery (see Battery Removal in the Electrical System chapter)Clean the exterior with solution of baking soda and water (one heaping tablespoon of baking soda in one cup of water)Rinse thoroughly with waterCover both battery terminals with greaseStore the battery in cool, dry placeDo not expose it to freezing temperatures
Lubrication
Carry out all recommended lubrication procedures (see Lubrication in the Periodic Maintenance chapter)During the storage, lubricate the following with penetrating rust inhibitor as wellSteering Cable Joint Connector at Steering Nozzle
