2-2 PERIODIC MAINTENANCE Periodic Maintenance Chart
Frequency Description
Check all hoses, clamps, nuts, bolts, and fasteners Lubricate throttle cable fitting and choke cable fitting at carburetor Lubricate choke cable and throttle cable and throttle cable fitting at throttle case Clean and gap spark plugs (replace if necessary) Inspect battery charging condition Lubricate steering cable ball joints and steering nozzle pivots Clean fuel filter screens Adjust carburetor Flush bilge line and filter Flush cooling system (after each use in salt water) Inspectlclean flame arrester Inspect impeller blade for damage (remove) Inspectlreplace coupling damper Inspect carburetor throttle shaft spring (replace carburetor if necessary) Inspect steering cable Lubricate handlebar pivot (disassemble) Inspect fuel vent check valve Initial Every Every See Page
