Shift Cable Inspection
Examine theorshift cableis kinked or frayed, replace the cableIf the cable cable housing
If the seal [A] at either end of the cable is damaged in any way, replace the cable
moves both directions Be certain that the cableat each freelyofinthe cableDisconnect the ball joint end Slide the outer sleeve away from the ball slightly, and lift the cable from the ball
CAUTION
Never lay the watercraft on the right sideWater in the exhaust system may drain back into the engine causing serious damageSlide the inner cable back and forth [A] in the cable housingIf the cable does not move freely, replace it
Shift Cable Lubrication NOTE
The shift cable is sealed at each end and do not require lubricationIf the seal is damaged, the cable must be replaced
