13-26 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Ignition System
Cranlk Position Sensor (CPS) Peak Voltage Check:
0 Be sure the battery is fully charged
m Disconnect the CPS lead connectore Pull all the spark plug caps from the spark plugs and push1 the caps
[A] fdiy onto ihe spark plug cap holder [B]0 Maintain the correct vahe ofpressure for the cylhder (Be sure measure the voltage with fhe spark plug instailed to the cyiinder ht?ad)
Colnnect commerciallyavailable peak voltage adapter [I31 to the hand tester [A]Recommended Tool: Feak Voltage Adapter Type: KE U-54-94 Brand: KOWA SEIKI
e Insert the adapter pirobes into the connector [C] the magneto cover of
side for the CPS as shownSpecial Tool
Hand Tester: 57001-1394 Adapter (R, +) (Ckange)
Connections: CFS Coil:
Adapter (BK, -) BU
Hand Tester Range: DC 10 V
