ELECTRICAL SYSTEM 13-31 Sensors
Water Temperature Sensor Removal
Ope the electric case (see Electric Case RemovalDisassembly) Disconnec the temperature sensor leads (BKY and RY) Unscre the grommet cap [A], and slide off the grommet [B]
Pul off thebypass hoses and unscrew the mounting bolt [A] and remove the water temperature sensor [B]
Remov the sensor [A] from the holder [B]
Water Temperature Sensor inspection
A Walter temperature sensor is installed on the bypass hoseWhenever the cooling water temperature rises to 95'C (203'F) or higher, the contacts in the water temperature sensor close and the Igniter works to cut spark intermittentlyThe engine speed decreases to 3,500 rpmIf the watercraft slows down even with the throttle on and the engme running, return to shore imnediatelyand check the cooling system for clogging,
