Brush Inspection
Me,asuf'le the length of each brushIf any is worn down to the service limit, replace ,all the brushes,
:Slarler Molo' Brush !length Standard: S,ervlce LI:mll: '8.5 mm
Btusn Spring Inspection
.Check that the' brush springs are iin place and win snap the brushes
firmly into place, If not r1einstall, or replace the sprinq,
Commutator Clea:ning and inspection
Smooth the commutator surface [A] if necessary with fine' emery clothB], and clean out the grooves
Replace the starter motor
Commutator Dia:me'ter
M'e,asure the diameter of the commutator, with new one if the commutator diameter [A] is less than the service limit,
