Brush Inspection
Measur the length of each brushlf any is wo'rn do'wn to the service limit, replace all the brus'hesStarter Motor Brush Length Standard: 12.5 mm Service Lmm 6.5 mm
Brush Spring Inspection
Chec that the brush springs are in place and will snap the brushes firmly into placeIf not, reinstall or replace the spring
Commutator Cleaning and Inspection
Smoot the commutator surface [A] if necessary with emery cloth [BL and clean out the grooves
Measur the diameter of the commutatorReplace the starter motor with new one if the commutator diameter [A] is less than the service limitCommutator Dialmeter Standard: 28 mrn Service Limit: 27 mm
