Pump Case Oil Seal and Bearing Removal All Models Except 550 Series
9- Obtain special oil seal and bearing remover tool, Kawasaki Part Number 57001-1058Remove the seals the forward end of the pump using the proper attachment supplied with the tool0- Use slim long punch and tap out the aft bearing firstNext, remove the shaft-to-case spacercollarthen, tap out the forward bearing
Impeller Shaft Removal 550 Series Mixed Flow Pump Only 11- If the two oil seals in the forward face of the guide vane casting still satisfactory, obtain an oil seal protector to remove the impeller shaftHowever, if the seals have failed, protector is not necessaryNevertheless, seal protector MUST be used when installating the impeller shaftIf small split occurs in tie lip of one of these oil seals, water will find its way -under pressure from the impeller past the two sealsThis water will destroy the two
