Clearance Results If the clearance is less than the maximum value listed in the above table, no action is necessaryIf the clearance is more than the service limit, inspect the condition of the pump caseIf the pump case has scratches deeper than 0.04" (lmrn), replace the pump caseIf the pump case is satisfactory, the problem must be with the impellerVisually inspect the impeller for nicks, scratches, pitting or "mushroomed" edgeIf the cause of the excessive clearance cannot be determined visually, the pump MUST be disassembled and the pump case measured and compared to specificationsThe jet pump must be removed from the craft to perform this workDetailed illustrated procedures are presented in Chapter 10
