FueYOil Mixture All engines covered in this manual are ped with an oil injection systemSuch system replaces the age-old method of mixing oil with gasoline prior to filling the fuel tankHowever, additional oil should be added to the fuel during "break-inwperiod following an engine overhaul or following long storage period"Break-in" Lubrication In order to obtain extra lubrication during the first 10 hours of "break-in", the manufacturer recommends premix of 25:l mixture be used in the fuel. Therefore, any existing unused fuel in the tank should be removed before adding the premixed solutionThis ratio will ENSURE adequate lubrication of moving parts which have been drained of oil during the storage periodProfessional mechanics who own oil injected units add an extra ounce of oil per each gallon of fuelThe addition of this extra oil may prevent engine seizure in the event of an oil pump failure or dog in an oil delivery lineUse only outboard marine oil in the mixture, never automotive oilsFour-stroke automotive engine oil is not formulated to burn completely only to lubricateTherefore, automotive oil, if used in two-stroke engine will leave an undesirable residueJet Pump Lubrication
