Reduction Gear:

Before removing the reduction 'gear, remove the magneto flywheel (see Engine Bottom End chapter) Wheninstalling the reduction gear, apply molybdenum disulfide grease [AJ to both ends of its shaft
Inspection
Rotate the pinion gear [A] counterclockwiseThe gear must be rotate freely [8]
Rotate the pinion gear dockwise all the wa:yThe pin:ion gear wW be advanced along the reduction gear shaft, and stopped against the stopper [AJ Release the pinion ge.arThe pinion gear must return to the initial position rapidly
If the pinion gear does not function properly, rep'lace it
