12-4 HULLENGINE HOOD Deck Frames
Deck Frame Removal eSefore removing the deck frames, remove the engine (see Engine RemovalInstallation chapter)eLoosen the adjuster locknutsoWhen loosening the upper locknuts, turn them clockwise, as they have left-hand threadsDeck Frame Installation eAfter assembling each deck frame, turn the adjuster clockwise as far as it will goeSet the deck frames into the engine compartment and turn the adjusters until the deck frames hit against the deckeTighten the deck frame mounting bolts to the specified torque (see Exploded View)eTighten the adjuster locknuts to the specified torque (see Exploded View)elnstall the engine (see Engine RemovalInstallation chapter)
Hull Replacement
To replace the hull,remove the various parts in the following suggested orderSeat Deck Pad and Tandem Band (passenger strap) Battery and Pad Jet Pump and Hoses Oil Tank Fuel Tank Exhaust Pipe Carburetor Engine and Mounts Drive Shaft and Shaft Holder Regu latorI RectiJier Stop Switch Relay CD,! Igniter Starter Relay Fuel Pump and Bracket Handlebar and Steering Trim Adjuster Steering and Trim Cables Fuel Tap Right and Left Decks Bilge and Cooling System Hoses Water Box Muffler Tail Pipe Bypass Hose and Outlet Fuel and Oil Fillers Fuel and Oil Fillers Hatch Water Drain Hose and Outlet Engine Hood latches and Hinge Seat Lock Assembly Deck Frames The following parts cannot be removed from the hull and must be replacedDecals Labels Mats Registration Number (if any) If the new hull is to be painteddo that firstThen install the parts removed in the reverse order of their removalFinal,ly, install the labels, decals, mats and the registration numbers
