Valve Clearance Inspection and Adjustment

6) Remove the valve timing inspection plug (5) and generator cover cap (6)Inspect valve clearance Initially at month and every months thereafter Inspection Tappet clearance adjustment must be checked and adjusted, a) at the time of periodic inspection, b) when the valve mechanism is serviced, and c) when the camshafts are removed for servicingNOTE The tappet clearance should only be checked when the engine is cold1) Remove the fuel tank cover and front fenderRefer to "Exterior Parts Removal and Installation in Section 9D (Page 9D-4)"2) Remove the fuel tank and fuel tank lower coverRefer to "Fuel Tank Removal and Installation in Section 1G (Page 1G-9)"3) Disconnect the oil tank overflow hose (1) and breather hose (2)4) Disconnect the spark plug cap and spark plug (3)Refer to "Spark Plug Cap and Spark Plug Removal and Installation in Section 1H (Page 1H-4)"5) Remove the cylinder head cover (4)Refer to "Engine Top Side Disassembly in Section 1D (Page 1D-17)"I933H1020004-01
