The LT-F400F is equipped with centrifugal type automatic clutchTo insure proper performance and longevity of the clutch assemblies it is essential that the clutches engage smoothly and graduallyBefore checking the initial engagement and clutch lock-up two inspection checks must be performed to thoroughly check the operation of the drive trainInitial Engagement Inspection 1) Remove the left side coverRefer to "Exterior Parts Removal and Installation in Section 9D (Page 9D3)"2) Connect the tachometer or multi-circuit tester to the spark plug high-tension cord3) Warm up the engineSpecial tool0990026006 (Engine tachometer (solar cell type))0990025008 (Multi-circuit tester set) 4) Shift the transfer range lever to the "High" position and the gear shift lever to the 1st gear position5) Slowly open the throttle and note the engine speed (rmin) when the vehicle begins to move forwardIf the engagement speed does not coincide with the standard range, inspect the clutch shoe and starter clutch wheelRefer to "Clutch Related Parts Inspection (LT-F400F) in Section 5C (Page 5C-6)"Initial engagement speed 500 2000 rmin
