ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Shift the transmission to the neutral position, turn the ignition switch to the ON positionPress the starter button and allow the engine to turn for few seconds, and then measure the pickup coil peak voltageRepeat the above procedure few times and measure the highest pickup coil peak voltage# Pickup coil peak voltage: 4.0 and moreTester knob indication: Voltage (&) If the peak voltage measured on the CDI unit coupler is lower than the standard value, measure the peak voltage on the generator coupler as follows: Remove the left fuel tank side cover(!7-5) Disconnect the generator coupler and connect the multi circuit tester with the peak volt adaptor as followsPickup coil:Probe.GreenWhite lead wireProbe.BlueYellow lead wire

Measure the pickup coil peak voltage in the same manner as on the CDI unit coupler# Pickup coil peak voltage: 4.0 and moreTester knob indication: Voltage (&) If the peak voltage on the generator coupler is within the specification, but on the CDI unit coupler is not within specification, replace the wire harness with new oneIf both peak voltages are out of specification, replace the generator with new onePICKUP COIL RESISTANCE Remove the left fuel tank side cover(!7-5) Disconnect the generator couplerMeasure the resistance between the lead wires using the multi circuit testerIf the resistance is not within the specified value, stator coil must be replaced# Pickup coil resistance: 80 155 (BY GW)09900-25008: Multi circuit tester setTester knob indication: Resistance ()
