2WD4WD SELECTING SYSTEM
DESCRIPTION
The 2WD4WD selecting system consists of the following components: the 2WD4WD selecting button, 2WD switch, 4WD switch, 2WD4WD selecting relay, 2WD4WD motor and batteryTO SHIFT FROM 2-WHEEL DRIVE TO 4-WHEEL DRIVE: Depress the 2WD4WD selecting button with the ignition switch in ON positionDepressing this switch causes current to flow as shown, energizing the 2WD4WD selecting relay coilThe coil pulls and closes the contact point allowing current to flow to the motorThen, the motor starts to operate and moves the rack in the direction together with the shift fork and sliding dogAs result, the driving mode is changed from 2-wheel drive to 4-wheel driveAlso operated at this time are the 4WD switch and 2WD switchThe 4WD switch turns OFF from ON while the 2WD switch turns ON from OFFTherefore, current is interrupted and the contact point returns to OFF stateNow the motor stops operating2WD4WD selecting button 2WD switch
