Apply 12 to the terminals and measure for continuity
between the positive and negative terminalsIf the starter relay clicks and continuity is found, the relay is ok

Do not apply battery voltage to the starter relay for more than five secondsThis may overheat and damage the relay coil
Measure the relay coil resistance between the terminalsIf the resistance is incorrect, replace the starter relay with new one
