SHAFT DRIVE AND DIFFERENTIAL (LT-F300F)
Install the removed shim on the drive bevel gear housing Install the drive bevel gear into the front driven bevel gear housing
BACKLASH Set dial gauge as shown on the drive bevel gear flange Adjust the dial gauge so that it touches the drive bevel gear flange; hold the final driven bevel gear securely, and turn the flange slightly in each direction, reading the total backlash on the dial gaugeStandard Differential drive gear backlash: 0-0.05 mm (0-0.002 in)
NOTE: If the backlash is not within the specification, adjust the shim thickness as follows:
Remove the shims from the differential bevel gear hub, and measure the thickness If the backlash is too large: Install thinner shim pack between the final driven bevel gear and the differential bevel gear hub If the backlash is too small: Install thicker shim pack between the final driven bevel gear and the differential bevel gear hub
